Donation Page for McGee Family
My 20 year old brother, Ryan McGee, passed away unexpectedly on August 11, 2013 from a rare brain condition called Chiari Malformation. Ryan was a huge advocate of organ donation and had signed his donor card when getting his drivers license. Our mother was diagnosed with IGA Nephropothy, a genetic form of kidney disease, 20 years ago and has been on the transplant waiting list for the last several years. When Ryan passed she was encouraged to undergo testing to find out if Ryan might be a match for her. Lo and behold he was and so she went in for her transplant the day after his death. She is now doing well and in recovery. During the three months that my brother was sick my dad lost his business and my mom was forced to move in with my husband and I after losing their townhome. Due to the unexpected nature of these events, there was nothing set aside for funeral costs, etc. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated! All money past family expenses will go to the Chiari Warriors Foundation and the Donate Life Foundation.

I am Sean Cuellar's mom and my son recently had surgery for Chiari at Children's Hospital in Oakland, Ca. After 4 x=rays and 3rd & 4th opinions, we chose Dr. Kurtis Aguste, and we're glad we did. Sean recovered quickly, & can now play any sport he chooses; he no longer has to worry about becoming paralyzed if he has a concussion or his head begins to bleed because of the C. Malformation.
Wish I had money to donate but sadly I don't. Just wanted to let you know I definitely understand CHIARI. My oldest has CHIARI. He was dx at 4 years old & now is 14. He just had brain surgery in December. So sorry for your loss. This is why I fight so hard to get word about CHIARI out. Our page is www.facebook.com/JosephDevinMichael
