Hello Everyone! I’m a 36 year old mom from Venezuela. My lovely son Vincent is 6 years old. Early this year I was diagnosed with gastric cancer, March 9, my son’s birthday. I was told I needed a Total Gastrectomy Surgery but couldn’t get it because after a laparoscopy doctors found out the tumor is too big, it reproduced and it spread outside the stomach and in the lymph nodes. I had to travel to another city to be able to get treatment because there is a crisis in my country Venezuela and everything is very hard to find, from the most basic medicines to food, hygiene products etc. Sometimes we don’t even have water. I don’t own a car, don’t have a job. Anyway minimum wage here isn’t enough to buy food let alone to buy the basic things a person needs. I don’t have family here in this city so I need to rent a place in order to stay here and finish my intensive chemotherapy treatment which I’m only starting. I don’t have money to buy clothes nor pay for school for my son. We’ve been living this year from the good will of some family and friends, but they can’t do too much either because of the country’s situation. My cancer is stage 4 and the doctor said treatment might not cure me but it’s supposed to give me more time. And with a young child, everyday I get is a blessing. Anyway I’m positive and hope I beat this disease. And if I don’t I do not want to leave my kid with nothing.

I also want to be able to go visit my dad who has health issues too.  I have not seen him since I was a baby and we had hoped to see each other one time in person.

There is no more Herceptin and other chemotherapy medicines in my country, no hopes in getting them soon since the goverment won't assing dollars to the institutions that bring them. And the cost of this medication which is around 3.600$ makes it impossible for me to buy and I need it every 21 days.
