Support Family Of Officer Jarrett

My name is Christian Jarrett. Friday, October 28, 2016, I lost my father forever due to a senseless man who was recklessly driving and hit my father with his van while my father was assisting with a traffic stop. The suspect got out and ran but was quickly arrested and apprehended by the police. Today I ask for any help for my family as we struggle to adjust to this life altering tragedy.

My father was very respected within the Police Department and served the community for 8 years. Aside from law enforcement, he was a family man who took pride in caring and providing for his family. My mother was his high school sweetheart and they recently celebrated their 17th anniversary. In addition to my mom, my dad leaves me & my 3 younger siblings. My 17 year old sister, Caitlin, is a senior in High School and expected to start College this fall. Caitlin's birthday is December 30 and my dad would always make sure that she had an extra special birthday that didn't overlap Christmas. Sadly, she will spend this birthday without a father. My 16 year old brother, Cameron, is disabled and depended on our dad. He looked forward to our dad carrying him to his bus stop each morning and cutting his hair on Sundays. My 5 year old sister, Cassidy, is too young to understand the gravity of the situation, but is already missing spending time and watching tv with our father. He was the sole provider and only source of income for my mother and siblings.

I am grateful for the time that I shared with my dad and I only wish it were longer. My dad taught me how to be a man. I joined the Army in 2013 and this September, I returned from being stationed in Dubai for a year. In the future, I hope to follow in my Dad's footsteps and work in Law Enforcement.
