The Ulery Family Medical Fund
I am a 36 year old mother of 2 boys ages 3 and 11months. I am a Stay-at-home parent and my husband works two jobs to keep us afloat. In August of 2011 and again in July 2012, I had a stroke. Both times, we were told that my husband made too much money to recieve medicaid and I had no insurance at the time. The medical bills just keep coming and I will be on medication that requires monthly testing indefinitely. My husband recently changed employment with better hours and pay, but since I have a preexisting condition, I am forced to take COBRA insurance which is expensive and pretty much takes all of our money that would be used towards medical bills, and medication.
This situation is very stressful and worrisome as I was told that the doctors have no idea why I keep having strokes and that stress can cause them. I have had every doctor I have seen tell me that it is best that I stay home and not work. I feel guilty because my husband is doing the best he can and I worry constantly about how we will even be able to pay our mortgage most months.
I would really appreciate any help that would alleviate my stress and allow me to enjoy the time I have with my boys as I never know when my time may run out.
