Matt Youngs Flood

I am Sergeant Don E. Plant with the Harris County Sheriff's Office Air Support Unit.  My Captain, Richard Ricks and I are raising money for Deputy Matt Youngs and his family who were recently flooded, Monday, April 19th in his home located in the area of Cypresswood and Jones Rd.

The Youngs family has flood insurance for structure only and does not cover contents.  Needless to say, there entire first floor was destroyed with nearly 4' of water in their home.  While sleeping Monday night, the family woke up to find the entire downstairs completed flooded.  The couches, refrigerator, etc. were already floating. 

The Youngs family is currently displaced from their home and staying in a local hotel.  They were told their home will not be able to move back into until a minimum of six weeks.  Additonally, both of the cars in the driveway were completely flooded as well.

This money will be used for the Youngs family to  replace contents such as furniture such as couches, tables, curtains, blinds, washer, dryer, stove, oven, smaller appliances, eating utensils, plates, bowls, clothing, food, and numerous other contents not covered by the insurance.  This fundraising will aslo supplement any expenses incurred due to being displaced from their home and staying in a Hotel.  Renting vehicles for transportation and eating out for each meal.

We are hoping to get donations for the Youngs family as soon as possible. 

This means so much to us because Matt Youngs is a hard working family man with a wife and three young children.  Matt has volunteered his time with us at the HCSO Air Support Unit for approximately 7 1/2 years.  His full time job is for a regional airlines which pays very little, even less than a starting peace officers salary.  Matt has worked very hard to support his family.  It would be an honor to lift this family up in not only prayer but financially get them back to what we would consider normal.

Please consider supporting the Youngs family financially in this devastating tragedy.  Our hearts truly go out to them in this great time of need.
