Osuna Family of Danbury Forest

This Go Fund Me page is set up to help support the Osuna Family.  Please read the following paragraphs to learn about this family and the horrible situation they have been dealing with for the past month as their lives have stopped due to the serious illness of their son.

The Osuna family of Danbury Forest in Springfield, VA, Numa (dad) and Maria Lula (mom) are proud parents of two boys, Numita (7 years old next week) and Mario (3 years old).

Last month, after a couple of doctors visits, their older son, Numita, was admitted to Inova Hospital Falls Church.  Before he was admitted, he was a perfectly happy boy until he woke-up with a terrible headache and constant vomiting.  After five days of doctor and ER visits and being sent home, he was finally admitted to the hospital.  At that time, doctors discovered that Numita was bleeding in his brain.

Another two weeks passed with Numita in the hospital. Then, the doctors had to perform emergency surgery to open Numita's head to relieve pressure on his brain. He was seconds away from death.

After the surgery, the surgeon reported that Numita's brain was showing no signs of activity.  The last two weeks have not been easy on his parents and all who love and support the Osuna family.

Over this past weekend, the family feels that a miracle has happened because Numita has been moving his legs and arms and opening his eyes. The arctic blanket to lower his temperature has been removed and he is no longer on numerous of medications.

The breathing tube was removed today, but was replaced due to an inflammation in his airway.  The most recent MRI of his brain is showing positive signs.  Numita is experiencing swelling on the right side of his body because that is where the incision was made in his head and he is still on pain medication.

Everyone is really hoping that this miracle is going to continue and that we will have Numita back on our neighborhood playground, back at King's Park Elementary School, back to his best buddy, but mostly back as a big brother to Mario and son to his wonderful parents.

The month that his family has endured has been emotionally and financially hard on them and the length of the recovery road for Numita is at this point, an unknown.

Numa, the father has been off of work for a month now. Numita's parents spend all of their time at the hospital with him.  The hospital has provided them with a room in which to stay and friends have been bringing them food and supporting them with thoughts and prayers.

Please share this story with everybody you know.
As a part of this neighborhood, there are people with good hearts that can show support and love for one of us. If you are able to donate any amount, it is very appreciated, but thoughts and prayers are equally as welcomed.

Any money donated will be  used to cover medical expenses and to support the family as they fight their way through this.
