My heart is filled with compassion for this family who have suffered the loss of their loved one at the hands of another human. I know first hand how that tragedy changes lives forever. To go through that loss and now be dealt new sufferings and challenges that come from that loss strikes a chord within my heart. Please read about Alicia Deans and her family below and please search your heart and help if you are able.
Alicia Deans was a young mother of 26 when she went missing in April of 2015, and was found murdered a few weeks later. Alicia left behind two beautiful children and a loving family including her mother Sheila Emmons Deans.
Alicia's children Aaliyah age 7 and Bently age 6 were her pride and joy. After Alicia's murder her mother, Shelia became the children's full time parent. She worked six days a week to provide for the children and make ends meet. As a parent losing your child is an unimaginable nightmare, the loss unbearable and all the while having to be strong for her grandchildren who have lost their mommy.
Anyone who knows Shelia knows that she is a hardworking, loving woman willing to sacrifice and help anyone in need. Recently Sheila and Alicia’s children have become the ones who are in need of a little extra help. Sheila was forced to have a hip replacement earlier than expected and this could not have happened at a worse time because she is without vacation time until the 1st of the year.
As of this writing Sheila has been out of work for a little over 3 weeks and her Doctor tells her she won’t be able to return until January of 2017. As we know bills do not stop just because we can no longer work. These are difficult times to say the least for Sheila and Alicia’s children whom she is now responsible for, they need our help!
