Stop Constant Tour Helicopter Noise

Hawaii Island Coalition Malama Pono ( is a not-for-profit corporation founded in 2016 to help Island residents who are suffering from the constant noise caused by daily low flying Tour Helicopters over our communities.  Hawaii Volcano National Park has the highest fly-over Tour Helicopter rate in the Nation.

The money raised will be used to campaign on behalf of Hawaii residents to establish a “HAWAII ISLAND TOUR HELICOPTER COASTAL ROUTE.”  A similar route has been enacted by the FAA for New York called "NY North Shore Helicopter Route."

The negative effects of frequent low flying helicopter noise have been documented by the FAA in several studies across the country.

1991-1994 study conducted with University of Hawaii found that 5 helicopter flights overhead caused significant stress and annoyance to residents. Most residents are receiving 10 times that amount.

Tourists are unable to take in the serenity of the parks while residents of the island are being bombarded with noise.

20 years ago a route was established that caused minimal impact on residents, however these areas are now populated with their communities continuing to grow.

Hawaii residents would be very thankful for any contribution you can make to a worthy cause!

The helicopters wake me up EVERY morning before 7AM, and are a terrible nuisance all day long. We live in Pi'ihonua.

My wife and I were displaced from Kapoho Vacationland and moved to lower HPP. The constant inundation of low flying helicopters makes it almost unbearable to live there. It had never been like this before the flow started, only occasional flyovers, Now, 10 flyovers in 20 minutes is common and at low altitude along the coast. Even lower when weather is inclement. This has gotten insanely out of control with total disregard for residents.

Aloha, these 's r a almost CONSTANT dailey annoyance with an AVEREGE of 75-250 buzz bys EVERY day, only inclement weather grounds them & they r ALLOWED 2 fly over residential districts because of 'favors' pay offs 2 the faa & big tax revenue they generate hb

I just figured-out how to save $103/mo. on our combined iPhone bill. HICoP gets the 1st month before my wife finds out about it!

Tour Helicopters noise has become a significant problem on Hawaii Island as lenient FAA rules allow aircraft to fly low directly over residential homes.
