Greetings All,
My name is Stanley Pierre, although I was born in Brooklyn, NY, I grew up in Port Au Prince, Haiti. I was first personally affected by the natural disasters that hit Haiti in 2010, when the Earthquake occurred, I lost an aunt, at the time a young man just finishing college, I made an oath to myself that when I’m able to, I will work to give back to the community where I was raised. It was my initial plan to start a non-profit organization since 2010 but for various reasons that hasn’t happened yet, that is soon to come. I’ve done some community work on my own in Port Au Prince, however, I can’t bear the thought of not doing something on a larger scale, in light of the latest catastrophic event, Hurricane Matthew. I’ve lost three friends, really considered family in Hurricane Matthew, this is even more of a motivator to do something immediately, and it was brought to my attention that I can use the GoFundMe platform, to seek help on a larger scale.On behalf of We Are Hair beauty salon, located at 1876 East Main Street Waterbury, CT, 06705 with your help we would like you to work with us to raise $100,000 in an effort to help the cities of Les cayes and Jéremie. The proceeds will be used to provide basic necessities for the local citizens. We will also be collecting whatever could be donated locally at We Are Hair, which will be shipped to Haiti. Records for disbursements of funds will be available via receipts for all transactions, we will also have a videographer and photographer on hand when donating to the people of Les cayes and Jéremie. I will personally go to Haiti to handle all matters. My team and I would be held accountable for withdrawing the funds raised and using the money to purchase and send items to Haiti.
