Please help little Hudson G. Zednik

On October 3rd Hudson was telling his mom that he felt like he was suffocating and then he stopped breathing.  His mom Shakira began giving him rescue breathing (mouth to mouth breathing) while the ambulance was enroute. They rushed him to  St. Alphonsus medical center in Baker city but were unable to diagnose him so he was lifeflighted to St. Luke's Children's Hospital in Boise, Idaho.

Hudson is currently in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit where he is unable to breath on his own.  A ventilator is doing the breathing for him.  He is and will be undergoing a multitude of many tests to try and determine what might be going on and to come up with a diagnosis where they may be able to helphim.

He has a massive amount of mucous built up all throughout his sinuses, chest, lungs and the lower part of his right lung collapsed.   As a result of the fluid build up he developed pneumonia. His body is extremely weak. The weakness was not a priority when they arrived but now it is at the top of the list.

His brain seems to be functioning fine but his body not so much.  He is able to follow simple commands when asked and he loves to squeeze his parent's hand.  He is unable to talk because of the breathing tube but Shakira, his mother,  said he mouthed "mama"  to her today.   It's a waiting game for now.

He had X-rays, CT scan and is waiting to have an MRI. As of this morning he has made little improvement. but he has been given a diagnosis to go with what is happening to him.

Hudson has been diagnosed with AFM, short for : Acute Flaccid Myelitis, a polio like virus that has been making its rounds the last couple of years.  At the moment there is no cure, nor is there any evidence known to show the cause or where it comes from.

Hudson supposedly is Case #51 in the United States diagnosed from Jan through Aug of 2016, and Case #1 for the state of Oregon.  Appears there were 100 cases in 2014 and 24 cases in 2015.  There have been more cases since Hudson's diagnoses in October 2016.

Hudson has a long recovery process ahead of him.  His father just started a new job and has medical coverage but no vacation or sick leave.  Any donations would be greatly appreciated to help his family with living expenses and unforeseen medical costs.

Let's gofund the dickens out of this campaign and take that financial burden out of the equation for this awesome family. Please help spread the word by sharing this campaign on your timeline with friends and family.  I Frank and Shakira are greatly appreciative of all your love and support.

UPDATE:
Hudson has been moved from the St. Luke's Children's Clinic in Boise, Idaho to the Randall Children's Hospital at Legacy Emanuel in Portland, Oregon.

GREAT NEWS .... AS OF 11-13-2016
Hudson sat up in a wheelchair yesterday. It was a rough go but he did it. He is still unable to control his neck and right arm. His ventilator is still in but he is getting stronger with his breathing. He still requires breathing treatments to get the gunkies to break up.   Today's plan is that Hudson gets to be in a wheelchair and leave the room. He will have all the supplies he needs to make it possible.

Hudson Grey was off the vent for 16 minutes on Friday, 25 minutes on Saturday and 1 hour on Sunday!!!! He also did two 30 min sprints off the ventilator yesterday afternoon and evening. He started out the day doing another hour off the vent.

He also was able to walk in a special walker.  He is exhausted from his busy day of all sorts of therapys and having playtime with the bigger kids for an hour. We got him back in bed so he could rest, he swore he wasn't tired..he is passed out.
