Hello, my name is Nicole, I am the younger sister of Michael better known as Mike, Gee, or Mike G.
On September 30, 2016, my brother was diagnosed with a left sided acoustic neuroma (brain tumor) after undergoing an MRI from symptoms of double vision, hearing loss and constant headaches. Doctors discovered a tumor the size of a golf ball on the left side of his brain. The tumor has partially consumed his hearing on the left side and after surgery there is a very big chance that he will lose his hearing out of his left ear, have permanent facial paralysis, and possibly have to learn to walk again at the age of 28.
Mike will undergo acoustic neuroma surgery as soon as possible. The surgery is a 10- 12-hour long procedure done in one day or possibly two. After completion, he will also need to undergo physical therapy to learn to walk and take part in everyday functions again.
Mike will be out of work for a while after surgery and if he does need to undergo any physical therapy for walking he will be out even longer. At the age of 28, God has allowed my brother to live a great life and I know he will continue to be the strong individual he has always been and will continue to accomplish great things. He has always had a strong family, along with great friends, and I know that my brother will overcome this and continue to help others. He continues to tell everyone, “I am fortunate, a lot of people have it much worse than me.” - However, being out of work for an extended period and an extended hospital stay combined with a long procedure, medication, and rehab will amount to a lot of debt for him. Therefore, we would like to ask for any donations that anyone can spare. All donations are greatly appreciated and will go towards my brother getting as close to 100% as quickly as he can.
