We are a parent group working diligently to save historic Burlington Central High School, which the Halton District School Board’s Director is recommending be closed in June 2018.
Many concerned community members have offered financial help to be used for things like lawn signs, hiring of experts in demographics, venue rentals for meetings and so on. Any funds received beyond what we need for our campaign will be donated to Burlington Central High School for them to use for student success.
Central High is in the core of our city and has educated generations of families in it's 92 years. It is the heart of our downtown community. Businesses would suffer and property values decrease as a result of it's closure. Students who now largely walk or bike to school will be forced to take buses or drive. The list of concerns is very long and complex. Any help you can provide would be greatly apprectiated and put to good use.
