The mission of SCCA is to provide, at no cost to the cancer survivor, transportation to and from doctor appointments, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments. All of our drivers are volunteers. We are a 50l (c) 3 non-profit organization. Proceeds from our fund raising events, along with private donations, will give us the funds needed to continue serving cancer patients for years to come. All of the funds we raise remain within Sierra County! We provide service to Arrey, Caballo, Chloride, Cuchillo, Cutter, Elephant Butte, Engle, Hillsboro, Truth or Consequences and Winston. We dedicate ourselves to our primary goal – to ‘Care, Share, and Give’ back to the community of Sierra County
.Sierra County Cancer Assistance was started October 2009. We had our first cancer patient to drive in March of 2010. As of the end of July 2015, we have traveled over 360,000 miles and made over 2,200 round trips to either Las Cruces, or Albuquerque. SCCA has been able to help over 120 cancer patients with transportation to Chemo, Radiation, and to see their Oncologist.
Because of the generosity of Sierra County, through private donations, fund raisers, and our incredible volunteer drivers, we can provide gas money for those driving our cancer patients. We will not be having our annual Walk In The Park this year, therefore we are asking for your donations by becoming a sponsor, or by sending us a small donation to help us keep our goal of Caring, Sharing, and Giving back to Sierra County.
Our Board of Directors, Advisory Board, Volunteers, and those living through cancer, want to thank you for keeping our organization going and growing. All donations received remain within our County and are used for providing transportation to cancer patients.
