Hartford Cystic Fibrosis Fund

$1,630 of $1,500 goal

Raised by 16 people in 30 months
The Adult Cystic Fibrosis Board, made up of CF patients, was formed to address topics of particular concern to the CF community. The board improves quality of care in partnership with the staff of the Marie and Raymond Beauregard Adult CF Center at Hartford Hospital.
Accomplishments of the board include :
*-launched a Facebook group for adults with CF - "CF in the CT"
*-made improvements to CF inpatient visits including self management of care
*-advised clinic staff on improvements to new clinic space in the Brownstone Building
*-started a mentoring program for patients and parents called "CF Listeners Program"

In 2015, the Board decided to go full blast and launch a new 501(c)3 charity group to assist CF patients and their families during inpatient hospital stays, both at Hartford Hospital and Connecticut Childrens Medical Center.

The purpose of the Fund is for donations to go towards giving a little extra to CF patients of all ages while they are hospitilized. Donations will be used by the Adult Advisory Board to purchase items such as FitBits, iTunes cards, birthday cakes, holiday baskets, books, home spirometers and much more!

The members of the Board hope these"gifts of compassion" will provide support and encouragement to CF children, their families and CF adults, knowing that there are other people with CF who are thriving and actively involved with care provided to CF patients. This kind of "bridge building" between adult and pediatric CF programs will support the transition of CF children to adult care and will build contacts among adults with CF who are isolated while inpatient due to infection control guidelines.*

Congratulations on a terrific turnout for the Avon mountain run. We are so pleased to be able to donate in Jason Reid's honor. He makes us proud to know him and be apart of his life. Mark and Anne Stanley

Just saw the newspaper article in the Courant. I'm a long term road biker and appreciate the ability to go out riding. Good luck with the event.
