Thank you for findingThe Chatham Area Rowing Association Go Fund me page. My name is Scott Nohejl. I am the founder and Head Coach of our 80 member CARA Rowing Team. This team consists of Adults, High School, and College students. In 2013, CARA lost it's boathouse in Thunderbolt, GA and rowing was suspended.
These last few years, I have never given up hope.
I have continued to scout and search for a new location. In the past, CARA had to negotiate and lease an area for our team home. Instead, I have found a suitable location that will require purchase. This site will work! With everyone's support, I can purchased this location to restart The Chatham Area Rowing Association. I am in need of your help. Everyone knows that passion is not enough.
I am asking everyone that believes in this plight to raise $150,000 for land, dock, and a boathouse shelter itself.
Everyone that has been part of our 1989-2007 SCAD team and 2007-2013 CARA Rowing Teams can account for the growth and potential of this sport in our area. It is hard to imagine our lovely city, with all of our waterways, not having a rowing team available for community.
Rowing is such a beautiful and exciting way to get on the water. Our team offers something for anyone that wants to learn to row, get in shape, or take on the excitement of being on a team. Crew is a big part of my life. It is my hope you will help me by contributing to my cause. I want to bring back rowing to Savannah. Thank you!
