The Johnsons lost both parents

18 months ago, the Johnsons lost their beloved father and husband to cancer. In October, their mother, Krystina found herself in critical care due to complications from a particularly severe strain of pneumonia.

We started the GoFundMe with the hope that Krystina would pull through, but sadly, she passed away on October 14th.

I'd gotten to know Krystina well over the past few years and I was at her side when she died. Our kids are the same age and considered themselves cousins. We got together often for family dinners on Fridays. I snuggled beside her watching Golden Girls on the anniversary of Eric's death, which also happened to be Krystina's birthday. We called each other sisters. We've vacationed together and I've been by her side during many hospital trips since Eric died.

Krystina shone brightest as a mother. She worked incredibly hard to create family memories, like the one above. She held her family together through strength, spirit, tenacity, love, and lots of pictures. She gave everything to her kids. Now, it's time for us to step up and help. The funds raised from this campaign will go towards modest funeral expenses for Krystina and then the remainder will be distributed evenly among her three children so they can live the life Eric and Krystina would have wanted for them.
