Hello everyone! My name is Aliyah McLean; I'm 17 years old and from Lake Placid, Florida. Singing and performing has always been such a passion of mine, so last December, I auditioned for a music camp called A Cappella Academy. I am blessed to say that my audition tape was chosen from hundreds just like it, and I was accepted into the camp! I have linked my video below if you're interested in the audition process.

For those of you who know me, you know that singing is my one true love. Any time I get to perform onstage, play an instrument, or sing with my friends, my heart fills. I have been singing with my church since I was a little girl, and I taught myself piano and guitar a few years back so I could write original songs. One of my absolute favorite pasttimes has been performing musicals at my local theater, Highlands Little Theatre. Seeing the joy it gives others when my friends and I perform on stage is one of the greatest feelings I have ever experienced. The way the music touches people--there is truly nothing like it.
A Cappella Academy is located right outside of Los Angeles at Mount Saint Mary University's college campus. From June 28 to July 8, about 60 of us will come from all over the country (and the world) to learn more about music, a cappella, and arranging. At the end of the camp, we will perform a showcase to display what we've learned and the music we've created together. A cappella has always fascinated me, and the opportunity to learn about it from professionals and "masters," as some call them, would be an utter blessing.

This is where I turn to you! I would be humbled beyond belief if even one person decided to donate to me. I hope that my community and the people around me have seen how much music has impacted me, and I hope you understand how passionate I am that I have the chance to experience this.
The entire tuition of this camp is $1,995, not including airfare to and from California. I know that this is said a lot, but whether it be five dollars or one hundred, every cent makes a difference. My twin sister and I are seniors in high school, so as we prepare for college, our parents have to take on the financial strain of two more children. My mother is an angel, and she knows how much this means to me, but there is only so much she can do.
