Support a Soldier at RTR

Rainier Therapeutic Riding provides therapeutic horsemanship programs to America's active duty and veteran service members. At RTR we serve Veterans from the JBLM area. Since we are so close to Post we are experiencing growth at an unexpected rate. We have never had to turn away a Veteran who wanted to participate in the program. Due to this unexpected growth we may now have to do that for the first time in the history of this program. Without the funds to help with the costs associated to run this program we will have to turn away Soldiers who are asking desperately for help. They come to us broken, in fear of never being "normal" again. Often they don't understand why they feel the way they do. We are seeing a rise in the number of Veterans returning with PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injuries. They often do not understand the depth of their restrictions while they are still in the service. It is years afterwards sometimes before they reach out for help. We provide a safe place for these Veterans to interact both with eachother and with their horses. They take on these horses as their own personal project. These horses give these Veterans a purpose again. One rider told us that she had spent 8 years in therapy at a traditional therapists office and only felt that she was getting worse, not better. After just 8 weeks with our program she felt that she had made more progress with her horse than she had in 8 years of therapy. These programs work and we need your help to serve as many Veterans as possible. Please consider donating to help heal our Nations Veterans. The need is urgent and the time is Now.
