Hello All,
As I begin my final year at Juilliard, I found myself wanting to create a dance film that would explore the value of community and mutual support between individuals. Will Stackpole, now studying towards his Doctoral Degree in Composition at Juilliard, shared this desire with me and agreed to create a score for the project.
The video you see is just a taste of his composition as well as the movement I have been working on this summer with some incredible dancers. Using your imagination, picture these dancers in the waves on the shore of the ocean being knocked over as they try to finish their movement phrases, only being able to resist the waves as they begin to dance together as one unit.
What I'm asking you for is the means to create this video! The money I am trying to raise will go towards costumes, renting the camera, travel expenses for the cast, paying the videographer/editor, and other miscellaneous costs in this process.
We are trying to film on September 14th, because water gets cold in the winter and I don't want the dancers to become popsicles! This video is something I have been dreaming up for a while and am ready to make it a reality, so I hope you are too!
