Father Michael J. McGivney Center of Hope and Healing is a 501c3 corporation which provides Grants to Homes in Illinois that empower women who choose LIFE.
The Homes we support are an extension of the work of Pregnancy Assistance Centers. Each woman is treated on an individual basis. Recognizing the talents of the human person, programs are designed to help each person to use their talents to achieve eventual self‐sufficiency to help themselves and their child. Tools of education; of self esteem, of love of one's own life; to mention a few! These homes offer our guests a place to stay where mothers can mature into a loving parents and at the same time, develop the life skills necessary to become self‐sufficient. We present our guests with a sense of being a member of a loving caring family.
Residents are eighteen years of age or older, usually referred by one of the more than 300 Pregnancy Assistance Centers in the State of Illinois and of various racial/ethnic backgrounds. Often in difficult and complicated situations, the backgrounds of the mothers might include abusive relationships, poor understanding of self‐worth, no employment experience, limited education, and bad relationships with family members, or poor support networks. Women that are parenting or placing their child with an adoptive family are welcome.
Requests for funds to support this mission were over $250,000. Last year we were able to award grants to five Homes for a total amount of $75,000. As you can see we fell far short of what is needed to help these homes provide help to Women and Babies.
Every dollar donated goes directly to these homes.
