The Alfred Olango Fund

Alfred Olango's Family will need help for funeral expenses. We are also expecting that the family will need help with monetary commitments due to missed work by the family members. They are as you can imagine, are in the midst of a horrible tragedy.
They may need assistance later for other expenses, such as legal fees, and counseling for what will likely be PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder). Right now we need to bury her brother, her mother's son, and her children's uncle.
We (Lucy's co-workers and former co-workers ) work in mental health, and occasionally a client has a crisis, and we will attempt to assist them safely in that crisis until it has passed. We have a code for this, when we need help on the unit, "Staff Support".
Given her work, you can understand that Lucy would only natuarally expect that when she called the police, she would recieve calm and supportive de-escalation from law enforcement. Because she witnesses and participates in safe interventions a daily basis, in her work with mental health clients.
"Instead her brother was shot and killed."by police responding to a routine call for help. How could she possible expected anything other than routine assistance for her brother in a mental health crisis.

Lucy and her co-workers, and former co-workers working in mental health safely intervene with clients daily. If we require assistance for a client in crisis we ask for "Staff Support". Her co-workers arrive and provide calm and reasonable interventions to help the client.
"Can you imagine witnessing safe interventions all day long on your job helping those with a mental illness."

Now imagine calling for what she expected to be a routine and safe interaction and de- escalation for her brother, and he is killed because the police panic.

We are inviting the American public to help in our "Staff Support" effort to help "Lucy" and her family.

When you view the videos and still photos, Lucy can be seen crying hysterically. She is wearing her pink nursing scurbs as she was preparing to go to work on her PM shift in the East county helping the mentally ill.

Go Fund Me has asked that I clarify the following for the sake of additional transparency.
1. My name is Bobby W Stearns, MSW. I am a Clinical Director for a Chemical  Dependecy Program in San Diego County and a former co-worker of the deceased sister.                    2. Her co-workers and past co-workers have banned together to raise money for her brothers funeral, with the knowledge of her employer a Mental Health Facility in the East County. The employer has passed along the link to all employees wanting to help. The company's CEO has made a contribution.
3. We intend to pay for all preparation services, burial supplies and services (coffin, embalming, chapel use, and vehicles  to transport the deceased and family) a plot and tombstone,  as well as any ceremonial costs.
4. The funds will be presented to the family and Lucy publicly, and in time to arrange for services for her brother. We are hoping to have the needed funds in under 7 days.
5. Her colleagues that are my Facebook friends include and were involved in the initial process include: Autumn, LeAnn, Jerry, Halima, Arlena, Rick, Heather.  The remaining friends and co- workers Larry, Chris, Darren, Kathryn, Christina, Kadija, and Carleisha,  all agreed after the initial decision was made to assist "Lucy" (our former co-worker) and indicated supporting the idea.
