Mini, Dutchess and I need your help.
July 13th 2016 the city of Longueil, Quebec, Canada passed a new By-law CO-2016-934 to ban Pitt bulls and all breeds associated. It is forbidden to keep, maintain or possess, including for purposes of sale or reproduction, a pitbull.
Meaning:
A purebred bull terrier, Staffordshire bull terrier, American bull terrier or American Staffordshire terrier
The new bylaw will ban the breed and other pit bull mixes starting July 15.
Residents who already own a pit bull will be allowed to keep their dogs, but will face a number of new requirements:
Have their dog licensed by Oct. 1, 2016.
Have their dog sterilized and microchipped.
Have their dog certified as safe by a veterinarian.
Take their dog to an obedience course.
Keep their dogs on a leash and muzzled.
Keep their dogs out of dog parks.
Dogs may only be walked by someone over the age of 18.
Mini 4 Years Old.
Dutchess 10 Years old.
The expenses that im looking at currently are as follows:
Prices quoted from my vet Hôpital Vétérinaire St-Lambert, 200 Av Victoria, Saint-Lambert, QC J4P 2H6.
Sterilization and Microchip combo MINI size 386$ +tax
Sterilization and Microchip combo Dutch size 406$ +tax
116$ X 2 = 232$ +tax for both dog's base shots for the operation.
35$ X 2 = 70$ +tax for Longeuil city licences
60$ X 2 = 120$ +tax for the official document declaring them safe by a veterinarian.
Muzzles X 2 and Harness for Dutchess.
Dog obedience classes apprx 500$ each dog.
Apprx ALL IN ALL 2500$$$
These dogs are my life, my fur babies and the sweetest animals you will ever meet. They don't deserve death.
All remaining funds will be given to another PITT PARENT IN NEED.
We must also obtain a "Green apple pendant" which is a specific PITTBULL permit from the government. I haven't been given the details of this price, however, the deadline is OCTOBER 1st!!!!! This was very badly communicated within the town and city. This has left many wonderful animals at risk.
A little about me, I am 29 years old and my dogs are my children. I am single and paying all my bills by myself.
I wouldn't be able to live without them. They are my protectors, my best friends and shadows. I LOVE THEM MORE THAN YOU COULD UNDERSTAND WITH WORDS.
