Tuscany Theatre Co.'s New Space

Donation protected
Tuscany Theatre Company is in its third year and on its fourth rehearsal space...  We have long relied on the kindness of strangers (and friends and family) for rehearsal space.  It's not as easy as you might think!  We need a room large enough for 25 adults to dance, with a floor that is even and smooth and safe, with AC (this is AZ after all), with adequate parking available.  We had happily landed at a charter school when they suddenly closed their doors!

Homeless again, we began to rethink our strategy - clearly we need to pay for our own space, but we cannot make enough to pay for rehearsal and storage space off of our ticket sales.  We need to offer classes!  But we have no money.  We have great teachers lined up, great classes for adults, and a couple of different locations we're considering.  We want to stay in the East Valley to be near our performance venue (and to be available to our parent non-profit, Actor's Youth Theatre, so that we might be of use to them also) and to continue to meet our mission (to provide a safe and creative home for young people aging out of youth theatre and looking for community theatre opportunities AND for our East Valley families and performers and artists at any level of experience who want to be involved in a true community theatre).

From The 39 Steps to EVITA to Picnic to Urinetown - we have brought quality productions to the stage - help us continue to provide this creative forum for expression to our incredibly talented community!
We need the funds ASAP!  We start rehearsals at the end of October - ack!  So soon!  We will use the funds to secure a new space, pay for building out the space (floors, move walls, sound proof), purchase some standard supplies (chairs, toilet paper, the important stuff), and pay rent/utilities for three months while we get our classes up and running (we are being very fiscally conservative in our space plans, I promise!).

I cannot speak for everyone involved with Tuscany Theatre Company, but I can speak for myself:  theatre transforms lives.  It provides community, friendship, a home, kindred spirits, and a connection.  Fun, learning, commitment, passion, achievement - in one activity.

Has theatre touched your life or the lives of your friends or family?  Help us survive and touch even more lives!
