We Need Your Help!!
We are the Celtic Clovers, a Dublin (Ireland) based adult Ice Hockey Team. Formed in 2012 we have grown our team in both size and ability over the past 4 years despite the lack of an Ice rink in Ireland. We have been able to do this due to the commitment of our players to travel to Belfast for saturday night games (getting home at 2.30am) and travel to international tournaments to compete overseas.
We have competed in France for the last 3 years, loosing all of our games in the first year to winning third place last year!
Intill now our trips have been within the EU and always been funded by the players. This year is different!!
On 16th March 2016 the Clovers will become the FIRST adult Irish Ice Hockey team to travel to and play in a tournament in Boston and the USA!
The Irish American Ice Hockey Classic is a tournament held during St' Patricks week in Boston and they have invited us to be the first Irish team ever to compete.
Here is why we need your help. Due to the Boston celebrations changing dates by a week, 10 of our team mates are booked on the wrong flights and need changing. While our players have already paid for their original flights we are now trying to reduce any additional costs and get our players on the plane on the new dates and out to the US.
We have contacted the airline but to no avail. All funds raised will go directly to getting our team to Boston for the tournament, any additional funds will go towards transportation of sticks and gear & transport for the team in the US.
Please help us make history and add another outstanding chapter to our story.
