In Memory of Ann Cornett

On Sunday morning, we suddenly lost the most important woman in all of our lives way sooner than anyone ever would have thought, or deserved. I, Kelsey, am speaking for my family who is at a loss for words. I dont know how to say this myself, but I'll give it my best shot. We don't know how we will ever move on from this, or what the next step is, but we are trying.

For anyone that knows Ann, knows how incredibly selfless, loving, and strong of a person she is. She is the first person we all called to tell good news to, and the first person we came to when we didn't know who else to go to or what to do. She is the foundation, the rock, and the heart of our family. Without her here, we are broken. She took care of everyone and asked for nothing in return... except a clean house, and diamond rings sometimes, and some yankee candles, and maybe for everyone to not yell at each other! But she deserved all of it and plenty more.  It feels like I'm a part of a sad movie as I type this, and it doesn't feel real yet.

As a mother, she cared for everyone, blood or not.
She loved all of her kids on her bus (bus 99) and cared for them as her own. She is a mother to more people than any woman could ever physically give birth to. She is a grandmother to 8 beautiful grandbabies who she did everything for.  Above all, she is the wife to the other most important person in my life, my dad, Mike, Jake, Jake-Mike, whichever you may have called him. She was his boom boom, his best friend, the love of his life, his reason for living, and the person that saved his life when my sisters and I were without a mother 16 years ago when he was raising 4 girls on his own. I have never seen someone so lost and broken, and just flat for lack of a better word. She did absolutely everything for him and for our entire family.

So on Sunday, we lost our Mom, and now we're trying to pick up the pieces and attempt to put some back together.  As many of you know, funerals are expensive. We are starting this page to assist us with these expenses. We are currently expecting a total cost of about $15,000 for just the funeral itself, and then whatever else is thrown at us. Any donation helps and I understand many of us are in a hard place. Thoughts, prayers, and love are always appreciated.

I also need to say thank you to everyone that has already offered us so much love, support, food, and everything we may need, and continue to do so every day. There are hundreds of names I could list, but I would be here for days.  Again, thank you so much. We literally could not do this without you.
