Beam (Harper) Family, Loma Fire

Donation protected

Hello supporters: the Harper-Beam family has lost their home and everything in it to the Loma Prieta wildfire on Casa Loma that started on 9/26/2016 in the Santa Cruz  mountains. The home was built from the ground up over 40 years ago and the property has been in the family for 53 years. The family didn't get any evacuation orders, no reverse-911 call and the fire fighters never came.  No aeriel support.  They were busy protecting the radio towers.  Every building and barn on the 72 acres burned.  Frank, Janet and Jared tried to protect their home until the flames came over the crest of the top of the mountain and started spitting fireballs down to their house.  With no help they had 20 minutes to get out.  They lost everything and so did their son who's a Sophmore at Ann Sobrato High. In the middle of chaos and stress Janet ran through the house and grabbed pictures off the walls.  They were able to get their dog and one cat.  They lost 2 other cats, chickens and fish. They had to let the horses run free. We are asking for your support since my father is disabled due to both total knee replacements and numerous knee surgeries. My mother is a cancer survivor.  They are left with nothing and no where to go.  Please anything will help. Thank you from the Harper-Beam family.

Thank you in advance. God bless you!
