Meline Medical Fund
As a result two members of the Meline family were seriously injured. Juli, age 50 and Malissa, age 16.
Juli was life-flighted from the freeway to a hospital in Pocatello while Malissa was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Idaho Falls.
Juli has been unconscious since the accident. She has had numerous tests done and will probably be in the hospital for 3-4 more weeks, depending on when her body is ready to wake up.
Her skull was fractured which caused swelling and bleeding on the brain. The CT scans show damage on the left temporal lobe. She also has a fractured odontoid which will be a long term concern. She also has a cracked sternum, cracked ribs, cracked vertebrae number 2 and has been breathing with a respirator.
Malissa suffered a crack in the neck, a laceration on her liver, and a bruised lung. She was kept in the pediatric ICU for a few nights and then moved into a regular room where she is being monitored until she is ready to be released.
The Meline family is one of the most kind, giving, helpful, and loving families that I know. Throughout all of this they have kept positive attitudes and their faith has not waivered. They are loved and admired by everyone who knows them and I know that they will be extremely grateful for any help given to help pay the medical bills. Even with insurance, this tragic accident will certainly take a toll.

Juli update 12/3 Morning
I am here with my beloved Juli and family right now at the hospital.
Juli has passed over to be with her heavenly family that are there now. I am sure she is being embraced by all there.
As many have heard already Juli had something happen before 6am this morning. The nurse had checked earlier and she was doing okay and then all of a sudden a little while later the nurse noticed her vitals had dropped. The doctors and nurses tried to resuscitate her but could not.
We all knew we were blessed with the time we were getting to help her recover and heal. We also knew that it was in her's and God's plan. We knew we had things to fight against with all the factors of cases like this and we all know we were doing everything we could on this side to let her decide.
As much as we would to have liked her to recover and stay with us it was not meant to be.
As my sister said it right when she said Juli made her own Miracle.
This hurts but we have consolation in knowing we are surrounded by friends and family.
Juli was and still is a wonderful spouse, mother, friend, daughter and daughter of her heavenly Father.
We will love her eternally!!
Thank you all for the continued prayers and support.

She is still in a coma. She does react occasionally when her fingers are pinched and feet tickled, although not all the time. She does have damage to her brain but she is a fighter! Thank you for all of your donations, thoughts, prayers, and help given in every form.

Neurosurgeon is Dr.. Jonathan Morgan
He said it is still wait and see time.
She does have injury to the right side of her brain also just not as bad as the left side.
Long term we could be looking at a lot of capacity loss or not. Too hard to tell at this point yet. Keep praying for the best on that one.
A Tracheostomy will be done like I talked about before to her in the next day or so. Tube in her throat for breathing rather than the one through her mouth. A PEG will be installed for nutrients.
All this will help in care fore her and allow her to wake up on her own better. It will allow them to come back off her sedation some for that too. Won't have to worry about the gag reflex as much
They want to be more careful about pneumonia also. Today they used the vibratory in the bed to help loosen up anything in her lungs. This helps with oxygen levels staying where they need to be also.
That's it for now.
Many thanks to all of you and your support. Truely!
Lisa Surtees said, "They need to hire a lawyer not only should all of their medical bills be covered but they should also be awarded pain and suffering. Something I never would have known about had we not been in our accident. There is a cap in Idaho on pain and suffering of $500,000 but there isn't for medical."
Juli update afternoon Julie did okay in surgery as I said. She is off blood pressure medicine for now and holding her own well. The respirator is doing more this afternoon it will be adjusted back again to 45% by tomorrow dr. Seuss and bacteria in her lungs so they put her back on antibiotics. She doesn't like her nose messed with and tenses up when they do. Lots of friends and family visiting today keeping things positive.
