Most people that know me could tell you a little about what I’ve been through the past few months. On January 12th, 2016 I had a terrible motor vehicle accident. I suffered multiple fractures to my neck and back, with damage to my spinal cord, which caused me to have neurogenic bladder and bowel function. Along with that I had a broken hand, arm, femur, and multiple rib fractures. Every time I tell the story the list just seems to go on and on. After many surgeries, I was left with rods and screws in my back, plates in my arm, a rod in my leg, a cast on my hand, and plenty of staples to go around. In addition to that I had to have a halo screwed into my head for three months in order to hold my neck stationary and a tracheostomy to aid in my breathing. But I was alive and truly blessed to be so. Of course due to my condition I had to withdraw from school as soon as possible. However, it wasn’t long before I stated that I was determined to be enrolled back in college for the fall of 2016. In the aftermath of it all, I was unable to even move my legs for over a month after my back surgery. It was probable that I may not possibly walk again after what happened. But thankfully, after many months of healing, recovery, and rigorous rehabilitation, today I walk with one cane, maintain regular bodily function, and am re-enrolled at the University of South Carolina as a Computer Science major. I am creating this GoFundMe in hopes of becoming eligible for the chance to receive a GoFundMe Scholarship that is worth $10,000. I have fought long and hard to even get back to school, as well as for my own health and well-being. The aid of a grant for my tuition would go a long way in lifting many financial burdens I already face. In order to qualify I must have at least ten different contributors by September 28th. My main concern is not to reach $1,000 but rather the ten contributors by the deadline.
