Hi, my name is Ky'Eisha and I am a 1st year law student at Howard University School of Law. Before matriculating to Howard I applied for various scholarships, a few in which I received. One in particular, I have now decided to return. As many people may know, I have been in correspondence with the partner of the firm who awarded me the scholarship. I initially expressed my gratitude for being a recipient but also my concern with the narrative chosen for my bio placed on their website. After exchanging emails back and forth to no avail, I had to choose between accepting the firms money and allowing them to say whatever they wanted to say about me because they awarded me a scholarship or stick to my gut and return the money and have them remove my information in its entirety off of their website. I have chosen the latter. I was encouraged to create a GoFundMe to ease the burden of returning the funds, this is the result. Thanks so much for all of the amazing support thus far.
