My Son, My Hero, My Donor

My name is Brian, and this campaign is for my son, Ty. He's a great kid. A college graduate, a ginger, a helluva Guitar Hero player, and my kidney donor. 

My kidneys quit working in the Spring of 2015. I've been on dialysis since July of last year. When we were told that a kidney transplant was the only viable, long-term treatment, Ty immediately asked his mom if he could be tested. Now, over a year and a couple billion blood tests later, we are ready for our surgeries. 

Being a kidney donor is a tough decision. It means downtime away from most activities for a complete recovery. Things like work. Ty has prepared for this and has sat aside some money in his savings to cover his living expenses during his time off. But I'd like for him to be able to keep that money in savings. He has to make it to Japan, after all. 

He figures it will take about $500 a month to cover his rent and other essential expenses. This campaign has a very modest goal of $2000. This will keep him afloat and give him other things to worry about. Like what Netflix show to watch next as he recovers. 

Ty is my firstborn. My oldest son. He is selfless and kind and fiery and passionate. He makes me cry, he's so damn awesome. He's my hero. He's my kidney donor.
