Old Forge Little League New Field

My name is David Aliasso, President and Coach of Old Forge Little League Baseball located in the Village of Old Forge, Town of Webb, NY.   Our teams fall under the banner of the National Little League Baseball Association.  We are regulated under District 9 based in Boonville, NY and compete against teams in the surrounding area.

Our teams consist of two divisions: Minor A  Division (7- 12 year olds) and Major League Division (11-13 year olds).

We are raising money for a new baseball field to be constucted on North St. in Old Forge, NY.  There is  an existing  field that needs to be renovated and brought back to regulation.

We have an estimate of $68,350 from a company out of Syracuse, NY that constructs athletic fields across the country.  The estimate includes all new infield grass, infield clay, pitchers mound, bases, dugouts and fencing.
Currently we play our home games on the Town Of Webb School field, which three school teams also use. This causes many scheduling conflicts as this is not our field.   Although we appreciate the school letting us use their field there has been times we have had to cancel games because of these scheduling conflicts.  This is not fair for the kids on our team as well as the opposing team and all the parents and coaches.  Every team we play has their own Little League Baseball field.   It is time that Old Forge has their own.  The field will be used not only for our teams but also All-Star games and tournaments as well as other baseball and softball leagues.

This project has the full support of the Town Of Webb and I am working with the Town Board on  grant funding through CAP 21.  Because the grant  is in its early stages and not knowing any dollar amount we may recieve  we have also had fundraisers.  A Chicken BBQ and other community support has raised over $1400.  We are also planning more fundraisers in the near future.

The stated goal of $70,000 will get the field built and we are hoping on the grant money and fundraising to cover the cost of bleachers, lights, scoreboard, and future maintenance.

This project is especially important to the town youth.  It will provide them with a fun and exciting learning experience on their own field and not be disappointed about having their scheduled game(s) cancelled due to conflicts.

We are hoping to have the field ready to play on by the start of the season, June 2017.
