My dearest friend is going threw every mom's worst nightmare. She has been fighting preterm labor for the last month. And Thursday, September 22 at 10:46 am she gave birth to her 24 week 3 day old baby boy Romello Anthony Bazile. Before her c-section she was transfered to the Missoula Community Health Center. Since her home, children, family and friends are located in Great Falls she will be facing a harsh financial problem trying to care for her other two beautiful children, gas, hotels, food in trying to visit Melo in the MONTHS he will have to stay there as well as trying to buy cloths, diapers, furniture (such as crib, mattress ect), and carseat. She needs all the help she can get to provide the best care for all her children and to pay her way to be with Melo as much as she possibly can. No mother wants to be separated from their child especially when the child is in need of extensive care to survive. Please help my dearest friend be with and support all her babies in this time of need!

A lot has happened since the last update where Melo was receiving care in Seattle. While in Seattle Melo became strong enough to undergo surgery for the hole in his heart. A surgery called PDA Ligation. After the surgery things started looking up. He was eating and gaining weight. He was active and fighting. Tia finally got the okay to go back home in Great Falls, MT. When he got there, things took a turn. He ended up on 100% ventilator. The Dr's then put him on steroids. As he got better he got off the ventilator then we're told he needed eye surgery. After only getting 2 weeks at home they transfered again but to Billings where they spent Christmas and New Years. After recovery they noticed his lungs we're just not getting any better. They decided to give him a trach but it will currently have to weight due to having pneumonia. With all the complications Tia has been told Romello with be in the hospital for AT LEAST a year. He is our little fighter. And Tia stays by his side to help give him the strength to keep on going. This journey has not been easy for either.. But I'm so proud of both with all their progress in these last 4+ months. Keep sending your prayers & positive vibes as they seem to have helped so much so far.

From the last update about postponing surgery Melo's doctors decided it was time. With a second case of pneumonia, 24+ blood transfusions, countless resuscitations and a failed surgery attempt the doctors decided not only did he need his heart surgery but that they were not capable of doing so. So, last night Melo and his mother, Tia, we're transfered to a hospital in Seattle where he went for surgery merely hours ago. We are praying they can close the hole in his heart to get this little man some strength to pull threw the rest of what is trying to bring him down. Hopefully, a few days after the surgery, Tia and Melo will be transfered back to Great Falls rather then Missoula bringing Melo closer to his siblings and a hopeful mother back to her babies.

In two days Romello will have reached his one month birthday! Though this month has not been easy, he is still fighting hard as ever! His main problem at the moment is having weak lungs. He has been bagged a few dozen times and it too young to be given steroids at the moment to promote lung strength. And because of his weak lungs he has had to postpone surgeries. The hole in his heart and bleeding in the brain are still present but are not currently creating any issues. Melo has over come staph infection and pneumonia in recent weeks and has been able to take in more and more amounts of breast milk as time passes. Please continue your prayers and positive vibes for baby Melo and his stronger then ever mother.

As the news for melo as been an emotional roller-coaster, he is continuing to fight and refuses to give up! The hole in his heart won't close up so they have decided to try a different medicine which will be the 7th so far. They were going to do his first surgery Monday morning but as melo got worse, surgery just wasn't doable at the moment. Last night, he was diagnosed with staph infection then pneumonia the following morning. Hopefully in finding these problems now and giving him proper medicine he will get strong again. Please continue to pray for melo and his family as the deviating news has made some hard blows.

She and family will be able to stay at the Ronald McDonald house while he is in the hospital. I pray he progresses and can come home by his due date, I've been there with home and family in GF, and I in Seattle and Missoula before our micro preemie came home. Its not easy but there are many services available.

I can't help with a monetary donation, but please know that I'm praying for your family. I had a friend who gave birth at 24 via emergency c-section due to eclampsia. She and baby survived the surgery after the mother coded 3 times on the table. Her daughter is now a beautiful, happy, and healthy 5 year old. May God hold your family up and heal with his mighty hands!

Unfortunately I am unable to donate. I ran across this on a page and it caught me because my son's name is Romelo. We call him Melo as well. Prayers to your son and positive vibes to you and your family. I have a cousin who was a micro as well, and she is 22 now and just finished college. Had some learning issues. But she made it. Same size too as babies. I pray it gives you a ray of hope!
