Age:13 name: Reema Kumari Magar. (A fictional character to represent the girls of her locality)5 days of every month she hates herself the most. It hurts, its smelly, its sticky and its uncomfortable. Cloth is what she uses because her mother has used it and she says cloth is the best option. She doesn’t go to school on “those days ” as most of the time she gets stain on her skirt and her friends laugh at her. Pads are available but they are very expensive for her and she doesn’t even know where to throw it properly as with cloth you can wash it and hang it somewhere where her fathers, brothers cannot see it. If any problem is there regarding period she doesn't tell to anyone, she is very shy and her mother says it’s not a good thing to talk to anyone, it brings SHAME.
Help us reach over 300 such girls as Reema of rural parts of Nepal (Province 3, Dhungrebas, Sindhuli) and help not only the girls but also the boys to address their issues and give them education related to their body.
The funds will be utilized for:
-Hiring professional gynecologist to assist the children's need.
-Distribution of pads for 300 girls for more than 3 months.
-Gifts for recreational games.
- Logistics for conducting the program( Tents,speakers,mic,flex)
-Documentation.
