Josh's Fight

Donation protected

This is our (Emily & Jeanna) boss's son, Joshua Adler.  He just turned 5 on 9/3.  About a month ago, Josh was diagnosed with a primitive neuroectodermal tumor (also known as PNet) in his knee and his femur.  This was finally diagnosed after months of being told that his extreme pain was nothing more than growing pains.  Upon finally receiving an MRI, Josh's family was informed that it was cancer.  A barrage of tests followed to pinpoint type and location.  After 3 weeks of tests, scans, biopsies and surgeries, it has been determined that the cancer is not only in his bones, but is also in the lymph nodes behind his knee.

Josh's treatment will require more surgeries, as well as 2 different types of chemo every two weeks for at least 7 months.   Each round of chemo requires Josh to be admitted for the duration of the treatment.

Unfortunately, due to the specific nature of Josh's cancer, his tests, chemo, consultations and surgeries, and any other medical necessities must all be performed in Rochester, MN.  This is approximately 100 miles from the Adler's home, which means there is a significant amount of traveling back and forth, as Josh's father continues to try to operate his business, as well as many overnight stays because of the inpatient treatment of the chemo.

In order to keep up with Josh's medical needs, as well as continue to mother their other son, Eli, Mr. Adler's wife, Pat, has taken a leave from her job as a nurse at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, WI.

This has, as you can imagine, placed  much stress on the Adler family, physically, emotionally, and financially.  Please help us to try to alleviate at least some of these burdens, whether financially or spiritually.  Mr. Adler has a very difficult time asking for help, even when he TRULY needs it, so this is our way of trying to help him "not ask" for it.

Any support that you can give will be greatly appreciated, and we will continue to provide updates as Josh continues this big fight to beat this terrible disease.

Dave has given us permission to set up this account and all proceeds will go directly to the Adler family to use as they need it.
