Robot Combat in DFW!

Dallas Area Robot Combat is a diverse group of enthusiasts based out of the Dallas Makerspace. Our goal is to bring exciting, fun and edcational robot combat events to North Texas. 

We have dedicated members who are willing to sacrifice their time and energy to make a robot combat event happen, but we need your help.
To hold these events, our group must build an arena to contain the small, destructive creations as they attempt to batter each other into submission. We have already procured materials for the frame of the arena, but the walls must be built out of polycarbonate, commonly known as, "bulletproof glass." This material is prohibitively expensive, and we need to raise funds to purchase four 4'x8' .5" thick sheets of the stuff. 100% of the donations we recieve will be dedicated to contructing our arena. Dallas Area Robot Combat hopes to have the arena completely assembled by the end of the year, so we can ring in 2017 with a bang! 

The educational potential of this sport is virtually limitless and can prepare the next generation of engineers for the future. Contestants learn the principles of mechanical and electrical engineering, mechanical design, AC&DC circuits, physics, materials science and a host of other STEM topics as well as good sportsmanship.  

There is no other event of this kind anywhere in the Southwestern U.S. Currently competitors must travel to the East or West Coasts to compete. If you want to see Robot Combat come to Texas please donate to our cause; we will thank you, Texas will thank you.
