Changing Cities for Good

We are IHC Global, an organization that is trying to join voices around the world to fight urban poverty and to help millions of poor people in cities live in better conditions, with secure and safe shelter, water, sanitation, and access to education and health.    Next month the Habitat III global conference on housing and cities will be held in Quito focusing on the challenges of cities.   With thousands of organizations and local governments attending,  Habitat III is a unique opportunity for IHC Global to share its message, to bring more members into the Coalition and to bring about change. 

Since urban poverty is increasing, we want to help people to be able to stand on their own feet.  It is imperative to build awareness about solutions that can be implemented locally and about the importance to everyone of joining our global Coalition to defeat urban poverty.  IHC's  "think globally, act locally" approach will give poor people in cities around the world -- now living in slums and terrible conditions -- a better chance for a better life.  . 

As a small nonprofit, we have very limited funding and need to raise money to cover the cost of participation for two of our key staff people:  Our social media and communications coordinator and our program director.  Having them at Habitat III will make sure that we are able to get our message  out. 

We are digging into our own pockets and hope that if you are concerned about 800 million people living in slums that you will help also.   If you are able to help,  you will be part of a growing worldwide Coalition and you can feel proud that you have helped address one of the most serious challenges facing the world today by shining a light on how  millions of poor families in cities around the world are compelled to live and how this can be changed.   We and they will be incredibly grateful for any support, large or small,  that you can give to support our mission of changing cities for good.
