On Saturday September 17th Chuck was working the night shift at the Marathon station on Lansdowne Drive in Lexington Kentucky. Sometime after 8pm the station was robbed and he was injured by multiple gunshot wounds. He is currently stable but in critical condition.
Chuck is a Marine Corps veteran and is a trained welder. He has a daughter, Claudia, who just started college and a son Bryan (my husband) who also worked at the Marathon station with Chuck. He is a proud grandfather to our son Atticus.
Chuck is an animal lover and has fostered many rescues in the past ten years. He currently has two dogs that we will need to find care for while he is hospitalized. They have some medical needs as well that will need special attention.
We are still unclear what Chuck is facing so our main priority is to make sure his dogs are taken care of so he won't need to worry about them throughout his recovery. We also anticipate a large amount of medical expenses.
Any donations received will go straight to the care of Chuck's dogs and any future medical expenses for Chuck.
Chuck has lived in the Lansdowne area for over 15 years and has made many friends. We are so appreciative of the out pouring of love and support his neighbors have sent his way.
We'd like to specifically thank Seth and Heather for being there to save Chuck's life. You both are heroes! Without your quick action Chuck might not be with us today. We'd also like to thank the rest of the staff and owners of the Marathon for being here for our family at this time.
