Help A Christian Filmmaker!
I come before you all with all humility to introduce myself and ask for your support.
I'm Dean Wright and I've been working in the film industry for over 20 years. You most likely have seen my work as a Visual Effects Supervisor or Producer on films like TITANIC and THE LORD OF THE RINGS. I even was nominated for an Academy Award for my work on THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE.
Following my work on the NARNIA sequel, PRINCE CASPIAN, I was honored to be asked to Direct my first film - a big-budget feature film version of the greatest story of all time - the life of Jesus Christ. My plan was to use the latest filmmaking tools (and my Visual Effects background) to tell this amazing story a whole new way to bring the words, works and miracles of Jesus to a new generation in a way never seen before.
Since my planned film depiction about the Life of Christ was still on hold - when these men asked me to Direct the film - to share the inspirational story of these fallen Mexican heroes - I immediately agreed.
This film is called FOR GREATER GLORY - we had an all star cast - including Andy Garcia, Eva Longoria and Peter O'Toole. The film was released last summer. (It's available now on DVD and can be streamed on Netflix).
You can watch the trailer at the link above.
MovieGuide saw fit to honor us with two awards, one for Most Inspiring Performance (for Andy Garcia's incredible acting), and the Faith and Freedom Award (for "positively impacting the world community by presenting a balanced view of what makes America great - it's ideals of justice, liberty, religious freedom and protection of the innocent").
(Note - the film received an R rating - and while it has some scenes not for the very young - it's less violent than most of the PG-13 films released. The film was released independently).
Since then - I have been working hard to develop and find funding for some wholesome and fun family entertainment as well as some faith-based projects. I've got several projects moving forward (both for TV and the cinema), but these take time (longer than you'd think - or hope) and we've nearly exhausted our savings.
Unfortunately, you don't earn money when you develop a project, only when you find financing, and it takes money to survive. Most of the people working in the entertainment industry are struggling week to week, just like everyone else everywhere.
Your support will help me provide for my family (with three children!) as I work to bring projects that focus on good to the world. If you want to see more films that you will be proud to take your friends and family to - movies that inspire your faith - television shows you'll be able to watch with the whole family - I humbly ask for your support.
Thanks for reading, watching and -- if you're able -- your support.
All my best,
