Memorial Fund Bennett Michael

Our little angel Bennett Michael was born on September 5, 2016 to Kotah and Paul. They were extremely happy to be adding another child to their small family. Bennett's sister Aubree was pretty adamant that he was her baby! It was learned pretty quickly that he came to us with an up hill battle as he was born with a heart defect. He was taken to Children's hospital via ambulance and we soon learned his heart did not have a right pulmonary valve, an underdeveloped lower right chamber and he was missing his left coronary artery. Bennett was placed on a surgical plan to hopefully correct some of this issues and it became apparent he would have a big battle in front of him as correcting his heart deformities would require significant and numerous open heart surgeries. Bennett's 1st surgery was scheduled for Wednesday September 14th, unfortunately that morning he went into cardiac arrest. The doctors were able to bring him back and advised that he wasn't going to be strong enough for surgery that morning and wanted to wait and see if he would gain some strength back and re-schedule the surgery for either later Wednesday or Thursday morning. Bennett crashed a few more times on Wednesday and his tests results showed that his poor little body could no longer handle the stress of the medicine and machines he was on. His parents made the loving but tough decision to just make him comfortable and surrounded by love and family Bennett got his angel wings Wednesday night.
