My name is Crystal Mason. In 2011 I was convicted of a non violent white collar felony. Since my release I have
maintained a job and my focus has been my family. My energy is given into my goals & being a role model for not just for my children but woman & girls not to make the same life choices I did.

I’m writing from my heart for I understand the circumstances of my situation. I’m a mother, a
human being that made a mistake for lack of being fully educated on federal provisions policies.

I attempted to voted in November 2016 under the impression I had a voice unaware that my
voice had been taken away from me to cast a vote. I would never intentionally jeopardize my
freedom just to vote. A mistake I made due to lack of understanding. I ask you not to judge me
but to help me. Trying to keep my freedom has been a very costly process. My children & I are
reaching out to you for your assistance for we are in need of your help. Any amount you are
able to give will be appreciated, if you are able to share my story that will be appreciated.
Even if you are unable to give I pray that my situation opens doors for life changes. What I am being
punished for is not reading the fine print on a ballot but that’s something we as American overall
don’t do everyday. Your assistance is greatly needed in this matter.

On March 28th, I was sentenced  to five years for voter fraud.   I’m appealing the decision; thus, my children and I need your help to secure my freedom because I am the sole provider for my family and I am unable to cover our living expenses and all of the expenses that have surfaced as a result of these charges.

No amount is too small anything that you are able to contribute will be greatly appreciated. If you are unable to contribute, please share my story with your networks to help bring awareness to this injustice.

Thanks for your time and consideration!
