Help Sadie get back on the farm

Donation protected
Our beloved 3-year-old Border Collie, affectionately known as Sadie, was injured in a farm accident on Tuesday, September 6th. Many in Bethany and the surrounding area may know Sadie from our vegetable stand, the energetic farm dog who is always dropping tennis balls at customer's feet and the younger shadow of Sophie, our older farm dog.

Sadie suffered severe head trauma and a fractured jaw, and has been under constant veterinary care to become stable and keep her comfortable as her road to recovery begins. Currently, Sadie’s brain and eye function are slowly returning to normal, and she is regaining the balance and strength to hold herself up. On Friday, Sadie’s condition was stable enough to undergo surgery to repair her jaw, and a feeding tube was placed to provide nutrients until her jaw is usable. The veterinarians are optimistic that Sadie will be able to eat and drink on her own in the near future, however the long and difficult recovery has really just begun. Sadie is a fighter, and has continually progressed since the initial accident. Our family is completely supportive of Sadie, and want nothing more than to see her back at the farm. Unfortunately, the veterinary bills since the accident have quickly added up and therefore we are calling on our community for any support possible.

Everyone at Clover Nook Farm would greatly appreciate any donations made on behalf of Sadie and her journey back to the farm.

We would also like to thank our local veterinarian, Dr. Kim McClure-Brinton of Country Companions Veterinary Services and her staff for their expertise, advice and encouragement during Sadie’s accident and ongoing recovery.

Thank you to all of the veterinarians and staff at VCA - Cheshire for their care of Sadie during the critical first three days of her recovery. Your constant words of encouragement and optimism were incredibly powerful during a difficult time.

Thank you to central Hospital for Veterinary Medicine and Dr. Taylor for taking Sadie in on Friday and diagnosing and repairing her jaw, we will be forever thankful.

And thank you to everyone who took their time to read this. We appreciate it and so does Sadie!
