Spay/neuter for the Dupont Dogs

This gofundme has been set up to raise funds for the 12 Dupont GA dogs that have been living on their own for almost a year after their owner who was a veteran passed away. He had to leave his home because he could no longer take care of himself and left to live with family. Shortly after that he passed away. His family contacted me asking if I could help find a place for these dogs and explained that they had a friend who could feed them for a few weeks but after that they had no idea what to do with them. I offered to try and for almost a year all I could do is bring food out and the friend of the family has continued to feed them. I had contacted as many rescue groups and sanctuaries that I thought could help and sadly none offered to take any mostly because the dogs are unsocialized. Just when I was about to give up, we decided to get the media involved. WALB came out to Dupont and covered the story. Right after it was aired, a woman called and wanted to take them! Her husband was a veteran and something just told her to call. When WALB called me to let me know, I couldn't even talk! All I could do is cry.. Finally these poor dogs had a place to go! She said she could take them as long as we could raise money for fencing which we have and it will be put up tomorrow and as long as they were all spayed, neutered, vaccinated and dewormed. So this is where we are now. As soon as the fencing is done, I plan on starting to trap them and will get them straight to her vet. But we will need to pay the vet at the time of service. We are asking $250.00 per dog and I have counted 12 dogs out there. If any are in heat or pregnant there will be an extra charge but the new owner has offered to cover that. It has been a long year for these dogs and this will help them to start their new lives with their new family. They will be cared for and worked with on socialization. I have met her and seen where she is going to keep them and it is perfect! Please help us make this happen as quick as possible. I can't wait to post an update showing them all in their new home.
