Help Our Greek Youth Identity Film
Freedom Besieged is a feature-length documentary film concerning the current state of the Greek economy and specifically how it has affected the nation's youth.
To date, we have spoken with:
Greek youth in the anarchist neighbourhood of Exarcheia.
Homeless residents curbside in the neighbourhood of Omonoia.
Taxi drivers outside Syntagma Square.
Young Greek volunteers at the CityPlaza refugee hotel in downtown Athens.
Professors from the University of Athens.
Philosophy and theology students from the University of Athens.
We spent an entire week documenting a youth development camp run by Canadian-Greek John Karkalatos in the village of Kiveri (two hours southwest of Athens).
We are extremely grateful to include in this film perspectives from all over the international and intellectual community including:
American linguist and political activist NOAM CHOMSKY.
Former Governor of Massachusetts and 1988 US Democratic Presidential Nominee MICHAEL DUKAKIS.
Hungarian-born renown speaker and best-selling author GABOR MATÉ.
World-renowned brand strategist PETER ECONOMIDES
Highly regarded clinical psychologist DR. JORDAN B PETERSON
We are currently in the process of scheduling an interview with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, US President Barak Obama, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Up until now, this project has been self-funded and we are asking the public to help us make back some of our current production costs (specifically flights and equipment rentals) as we continue in full pursuit of this important and ground-breaking perspective on youth indentity in Greece.
