Hello friends and family!
Most of you know that the end of our summer was turned upside down when Walter had a heart attack while we were on day 2 of vacation in Vero Beach. Miraculously, because our hotel was so close to the hospital, he survived what the cardiologist described as a "widow-maker" event and is here with us today! He was in the ICU/hospital for 7 days and received a stent for a blockage in his RCA-right coronary artery. However, there are still blockages in the LCA-left coronary artery and LAD-left anterior descending artery. His cardiologist recommended bypass surgery and sent us to a Cardio-Thoracic surgeon who we've met with. We are now preparing for open heart surgery at the end of September.
We were so blessed to be able to pay most of the out-of-pocket-maximum, but that has absolutely depleted any savings which could help us pay bills while Walter is out of work recovering from this surgery.
Our families have graciously offered to help take care of our boys while Walter is in the hospital and then to come stay with Walter during the day so that I can return to work as soon as possible. Without Walter's income though, many of our bills may fall behind. We will also have an extra expense of boarding our dogs while Walter is in the hospital because my sweet rescues, Gracie and Rex, are very afraid of new and different people. Fortunately, the kennel we board with is run by a certified animal behavioralist who loves my fur-babies and has given us a great rate due to our need.
Above all else, please pray for Walter, the surgery, our families and my boys' adjustments to all these transitions. If you're able to help financially, words cannot express how much we would appreciate you and your gift.
