Send Fairfield DI to Global Finals

We are the five students of the Fairfield High School Destination Imagination (DI) team. After achieving honors for creativity, teamwork, and innovation in regional and state academic tournaments, we have earned our chance to compete in DI’s Global Finals, the world’s largest celebration of student creativity!
To earn our spot at Globals, we fulfilled our technical challenge which meant creating a vehicle that transports one team member across the stage multiple times using two different movement and propulsion methods. We also had to tell a story while traveling, AND had to design and make all scripts, sets, and costumes (while keeping within a $200 budget for all materials). We were so proud to receive first place and a Da Vinci Award for creativity at the regional competition, and second place in the state competition to earn our invitation.
That’s where we need your help. Global Finals will be held May 25-28 in Knoxville, TN. We will be competing against teams from 48 states in the USA and 15 countries around the world. Our goal is to represent our school, our community, and our state at Globals, but we need the funds by May 6th, 2016 to help pay our registration and transportation fees.
The registration fees will include 5 nights of housing on the campus of UT, 13 meals, and access to all areas associated with the competition, as well as special events and workshops put on by organizers. We are trying to raise all the money by ourselves, and would be grateful to anyone who can help our team raise the fees! Our families have committed to other expenses related to the trip, mainly transport for our large props and the vehicle we built.
DI has had a significant positive impact on all of us. This year, we are five of the 150,000 students who have participated in tournaments around the U.S. and in 30 countries, and we have made it to Global Finals. We hope you will help us reach our goal of representing Fairfield City Schools on an international level.
