Cleats for kids

  This year for Christmas, in memory of my Father, Grant Campbell Sr. I will be putting on a fundraiser to raise money in support of under privileged children, enrolled in the Powell River Youth Soccer Association.

  Organizing this fundraiser is something I have wanted to do for some time now, and with the passing of my father, nearly 1 year ago, and the holidays just around the corner, I felt like there is no better time to honour his memory and give back to our community, then to raise money for a cause that he greatly supported; being a couch for youth soccer himself, loving the sport, and always having a soft spot for those in need.

I am going to do it in fun, good spirited way, in which every person that donates is entered into a draw to win one of two prizes that I have gone out and purchased. I am asking for a minimum of $10 donation, and no limit on the maximum amount.

The entire amount of money fundraised will be sent to an organizer of PRYSA, Nova Cleghorn, who will make sure the right kids and their families will have extra money this year for cleats, gear, and anything else that gives them a better opportunity to get out and join a team, make friends, learn new skills, and bring some joy. As soccer has brought me all of these things over the last 24 years I’ve played.

For every $200 I raise, I will donate an extra $40 out of my pocket. I’ve decided I will draw the two names and donate the money to PRYSA on December 14, the date my father passed last year, to bring some light to a darker day for my family and I.

The second draw prize will be a Yeti Rambler with a Tim Hortons gift card, and the first draw prize will be a Tribit Xsound Go Bluetooth speaker.
