KOTU CTR, Miracles Take Place

Donation protected
As a single guy, I made aliyah in 2011 and opened my home to anyone who needed a Shabbat meal. I shopped, cooked, and cleaned, and after 4 years had gone by, over 3500 people had come here needing a place for a Shabbat meal. Miraculously, five couples met and got married.

The guests who attended were a combination of people from the community in Jerusalem, friends, and tourists. I even had Holocaust survivors  who attended regularly at my table and I felt very privileged having them here. Some local Shuls like Kol Rina and Mayanot always announced at the end of services if anyone needs to be hosted and we always took guests, regardless of how many were already coming to my table.

We created The KOTU Centre after the success of the Melech HaOlam Project. You can read about that at our website.

As if doing meals wasn’t enough, we began having regular weekly Sunday night Torah classes. Classes were open to both men and women and all ages with no restrictions. We’ve had some very well known and prominent Rabbis here. This continued for over 3 years. During that time we tried all types of marketing to get more people to attend. We invented “Sushi Sunday”, and actually had a Sushi Chef here making fresh sushi ready for attendees. We made it Educational, Fun and Social. Many people came to me and told me personally that the classes made a real difference in their lives.

The KOTU Centre is expanding its offerings to include a WellNess Recovery Program whereas people come from all over the world to stay at one of our accommodations and get well, regardless of their challenges in life. You can read more about our customized programs at our website.

In a very short period of time we’ve made a big impact on the community in Jerusalem and around the world. We built a reputation as the “Go To” place when visiting Jerusalem. “Go To The KOTU” If you type on Google maps KOTU, immediately The KOTU Centre prominently displays.

Up to this point we were self-funded but going forward we now need your support. Whatever we do, besides all the time and effort it takes, it takes money too. So if you can help, please click on the link. If not, please keep coming to our events as we never turned anyone away because they couldn’t afford to participate. We always welcome sponsors too. There is no other place like The KOTU Centre on earth!
