As a fellow Bouv-lover and friend of John and Amitz and fellow Floridian I have never done a GO-FUND-ME before so please forgive my inexperience but I wanted to help two wonderful members of the Bouvier Community--John Braaten and Amitz the lovely boy that he adopted from ABRL a few years ago! You may all remember Amitz plight when he came into rescue, he had a horrific injury and with your help we were able to save his leg. John followed Amitz story from the very beginning and let his interest beknown of his desire to adopt him! It was love at first sight! They have been inseperable ever since! John recently had hip replacemet surgery and Amitz never left John's side when he came home from the hospital! Just weeks after returning home and recuperating their lives were once again turned upside by Hurricane Hermine! They live in Crystal River Florida and John's apartment was flooded with 5' of water. I can only imagine what a terrifying experience it must have been for both of them! The apartment manager helped John get Amitz to the club house which has a second story where they took solace until the water receded enough for John and Amitz to get to a hotel and safety! Since the apartment did not have flood insurance they lost "everything"! Once again we turn to your generosity helping a fellow Bouvier lover & Bouvier who has lost everything except each other! John told me that FEMA has stepped in so it will take longer than anticipated to return home so he will need to have to pay for lodging, he has to buy just everything new including his cell phone to help rebuild his life--all donations raised from this fundraiser will go directly towards helping John and Amitz during this very difficult time! Any small donation is appreciated and if you cannot afford to donate please keep John and Amitz in your prayers, they are very special people!
