Help Laurie Fight Cancer and Win !

My name is Janet.   I am looking for your generosity to help raise money for my sister Laurie Campbell Walsh as she battles cancer.
 

Laurie is a single mother of three beautiful children ages 16, 12 and 10.  One of which has special needs.  All three children depend on Laurie as she is the only parent that they have.  The children's father passed away 4 year ago. Since then, Laurie has struggled with finances and finding a full time position in her field.   Laurie is a fighter and has worked hard coming from the devastating loss of her husband, fighting to improve her finances and develop a promising future for herself and children.  

 

Laurie had neck surgery on 8/31/16 and was diagnosed with stage 4 Squamous Cell Carcinoma.  This diagnosis came a year after a misdiagnosis of a lump in her neck.  Laurie will be starting combined  radiation and chemotherapy on 9/19/16.  She will be receiving therapy 5 days per week for 7 weeks.  This therapy will require her to have a feeding tube, as the treatment will leave her unable to swallow.  Laurie's radiation oncologist states this is the most difficult cancer treatment there is but the prognosis is good.   After a few weeks of treatment it will be extremely difficult to do much more than going back and forth to treatment.  Laurie will be unable to fully care for her children and will need help.  This will be a battle that will stretch out over the next year or so as recovery for this type of cancer is slow.  The need for her family is immediate and help is needed ongoing,  for the next year and beyond as she will be unable to work.  She will need help as she recovers.

 

Paying bills is a big concern for Laurie and being the sole provider, she will need financial support.  We are asking the community and anyone that is willing to help her and her children. Any donation is greatly appreciated.  Laurie needs to focus on getting through this most difficult journey she is on, and not have to worry so much on the financial burden she is going to face.  Please also take a moment to share this with others that may be able to help my sister and her children.
