2nd Annual Hike 4 Deaf Kids

Hello Friends and Family,
as many know from past and recent posts, I am a bit involved with a dear project of mine in the southern region of Kenya. Helping deaf children to have a brighter and better future through education. In the past three years we, at Aid Kenya Watoto, a German NPO, of which I am a proud founding member, have been able to increase our student body from some 12 kids to close to 40 kids, build a dormitory which offers housing for up to 60 boys and girls, built two class rooms, and much more. We strive to give the kids a better future and want at the same time create awareness in the community. Recently a chicken coop was donated, so the kids learn, besides school stuff, how to tend to the chickens, sell eggs to the community and receive a much healthier diet. Through a very generous donation by the WILO Foundation we have just recently started to construct a kitchen and Community Center. Anyway, my last fund raising hike attempt for some 100km in 24h this past April in Hamburg was a .... Desaster. I made so many mistakes. Maybe I learned, so Friday August 31st I will hike again, I will try my best to do some 60 km for sure, 80 would be great and anything beyond, you tell me .... 120 km is Max, but lots of ups and downs in Luxembourg .... we will see. I, once again, will donate a minimum of 1 Euro for every km I master and hope that many of you will match my distance donation. All funds will go to Aid Kenya Watoto, to complete the WILO kitchen and community center. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have.
